Good communication is one of the most important qualities of a reliable background actor. Production schedules move quickly, and timely responses help Casting Directors fill roles efficiently.
When a member of the casting team contacts you about your availability, a booking, or additional information, please respond as soon as possible. We understand that you're not always able to reply immediately, but we do ask that you communicate with us. Even if you can't work, a quick response is always appreciated.
Availability Changes
If something comes up after you've expressed interest in working, let us know immediately.
Please do not wait until you receive your booking information or call time to tell us you can no longer work. Likewise, do not wait to see whether the call time is convenient before deciding to cancel. When you accept a booking, you are confirming that you are available for the entire filming date, regardless of your eventual call time.
If you're unsure whether you'll be available, it's best not to submit yourself or mark yourself as available until you know for certain.
Updates
Casting will always provide the most current information available as soon as we receive it from production. Because schedules can change frequently, there may be times when we don't have all the answers right away.
If we haven't heard back from you, we'll make every reasonable effort to follow up before moving on to another actor. Prompt communication helps us keep productions running smoothly and increases the likelihood that we'll continue reaching out to you for future opportunities.
MOST IMPORTANT NOTE
DO NOT GHOST US. A quick "I'm unavailable" is far more helpful than no response at all.
